Calculator Inputs
LiveHow to use the Discount Calculator
- 1Enter the original retail price before discount.
- 2Enter the discount percentage offered (e.g. 25%).
- 3View the final discounted checkout price and total savings amount.
How Discount is Calculated
The discount percentage is applied to the original sticker price to compute the total savings, which is subtracted from the original price.
Original Price is the initial price, and Discount % is the promotional percentage reduction.
- 1Discount Amount = $180 × (35 / 100) = $63.00
- 2Final Price = $180 - $63.00 = $117.00
What affects Discount results
- Initial base price.
- Stacked promotional codes or loyalty member discounts.
- Local sales tax calculated on pre- or post-discount totals.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do consecutive discounts work?
If an item has 20% off and an extra 10% off coupon, the 10% applies to the already discounted price, not the original sticker price.
Does the calculator account for sales tax?
You can adjust your base cost or compare final checkout values before and after local tax levies.
